Private Finance celebrates its 18th Birthday this month. During this period Private Finance has grown from one man and his desk to being a respected UK facing, London based broker fulfilling the mortgage needs of busy business people and professionals.

Simon Checkley established Private Finance in 1999 following a 17-year career with mortgage brokers, John Charcol. His aim was to specialise in providing a personal and high-quality mortgage broking service, not necessarily targeted at those of high net worth or income but at those who, given their business and career circumstances, would see great value in such a service.

The name was intended to reflect this objective and, because the company aspired to forge relationships with high quality introducers, would help the individuals making referrals recognise the firm as an important added value discipline they could offer, whose brand does not detract from their own.

The company now looks after client mortgage needs on a nationwide and exclusive basis for a number of major UK property agencies including: Carter Jonas, Jackson-Stops and Strutt & Parker.

The company has arranged billions of pounds of mortgages for several thousand clients. Simon regards Private Finance’s 4.93/5 rating derived from hundreds of clients as being one of the firm’s major achievements.

The future is going to be even more exciting with the launch of Private Finance’s online proposition and the recruitment of further brokers to support clients in an ever more complex mortgage market.
